when you have a computer then you obviously use your computer. when you turn on your computer after it says. "Loading your personal information" then you go to your desktop and everything are loaded means "Start Menu, Desktop Items, Folders...etc.." yes this is all the functionality of the windows explorer if you end the "explorer" process from the task manager then you won't be able to see your start menu even you can't open your folders yes opening folders and start menu these are the important functions of windows explorer. when a folder sticks then windows says that the "Windows explorer is not responding" so that means all the files and folders are opened in Windows Explorer.
